World Food Prize
The World Food Prize undertook the renovation of a century-old Beaux Arts structure for its headquarters, the former Des Moines Public Library, preparing it for another century of duty. Waldinger crews were involved in all phases of the historic restoration, including mechanical, sheet metal and electrical systems to completely update this riverside landmark.
As a tribute to Nobel Peace Prize winner Norman Borlaug, the World Food Prize coined the structure the Dr. Norman E. Borlaug Hall of Laureates. The Hall serves as a museum to recognize great achievements in agriculture, as host facility for the World Food Prize International Symposium – the Borlaug Dialogue, as a home for the Global Youth Institute and as an educational facility featuring interactive displays on hunger and food security.
